How To Make A Stress Free Garden*

*This is a collaborative post*

Creating a garden has to be done with longevity in mind. Not only should it be the garden you've always dreamed of but it also needs to be practical and easy to maintain. A lot of us just simply don’t have the time to put in the hours we'd like. So how can you achieve a low maintenance garden that also looks great? Carry on reading for some garden inspo!

Artificial Grass

Some would describe this as a modern miracle. Artificial grass is grass but without the problems that real grass comes with. Made out of synthetic materials, it’s a viable alternative to real grass with much less of the hassle. It’s made out of hard wearing polymers which will stay in shape and keep their colour all year round, it doesn’t need watering, mowing or caring for at all so once you’ve lain the grass down, you’re set to go! It’s also mess free as it doesn’t involve any mud or dirt, meaning that your kids can play on it and roll around to their heart’s content, and you don’t have to worry about cleaning their clothes afterwards! There are loads of different types, so it’s a good thing to read a guide to artificial grass to see which version of grass is going to suit you.

Plastic Fencing

Plastic is a very durable material which can be used for a variety of things, and luckily enough it can be used to make fences. Plastic fences are better than their wooden counterparts for a few reasons. They’re stronger, which means you’ll never have to worry about them breaking! Nor will you have to worry about getting splinters when handling them because there's no wood involved in their construction. They're remarkably stress free and you’ll only need to give them a quick wipe down every now and again. They don’t need varnishes or lacquers like real wood does, so you’ll not have to maintain them. All in all, giving you a much easier life.

Use High Quality Soil For Your Plants

You’re not going to be using a lot of this because hopefully you’ll have some artificial grass, but for the areas where you do have plants it’s good to get the highest quality soil you can. Having this soil means that whatever plants and flowers you decide to grow, they'll grow with no problems. If you get a lower quality soil, you could find that you have hassle maintaining them due to a lack of nutrients. Start off right by getting the best soil you can, then plant your flowers and just leave them to grow!

Doing any of these things is guaranteed to turn your garden from a maintenance nightmare into a lovely, stress free place of relaxation. You'll not have to worry about giving anything your undivided attention as the garden should stay looking great all year round. Of course some of us are unhappy with our gardens even when they're easy to maintain because they feel too small. If that's you then have a read of this and maybe you'll not feel quite so dissatisfied anymore.
