January: End Of Month Catch Up

I love writing these. For those of you who read my latest blogging tips post you'll find I disregard all my own rules in these catch ups. There is no structure, no specific point and writing these takes very little effort on my part as it feels like I'm just chatting to you all.

What a crazy month January has been. Anyone else in agreement? Nevertheless we've made it through - hurrah!

I'm happy to say I smashed one of my New Year goals already. I'm trying to grow my following on each of my social media avenues - aren't we all? - and although I've pretty much given up on Instagram for now, I thought gaining another 1k on Twitter over twelve months was a realistic aim considering it's grown by about 2k since I started. Although I set out January 1st with some new tactics up my sleeve, I never expected to hit the target in less than one month but needless to say I'm incredibly happy about this. Post coming soon on how I did it for anyone interested.

Work has been mega stressful lately and I'm not going to pretend here, I've really struggled to cope. I'm now feeling like I've chosen the worst time to wean off my medication but hey ho I'm trying desperately to keep my head above water. Some changes have been made so fingers crossed that it's all good from here on in.

Blogging wise I've managed to post three times a week for the entire month. This consistency is a first for me but seeing as I'd set myself the challenge I was determined to see it through. Truth be told I wasn't sure if I'd be able to manage it what with having no laptop and work being so full on, but here we are at the end of the month (almost) and I can proudly say I did it. Just hope I can keep it up. I've also worked really hard on improving my content and I hope it shows.

There's nothing exciting to share with you all on the personal front. I currently have no social life as every waking minute is used up with work/blogging/scheduling/writing but the more I hustle now the better my future right? I am determined to become my own boss and create the life I have dreamed of since I was a little girl.

My sister has booked a holiday for us which was a complete surprise. We'll be heading to Scotland in August with the boys.

February will see a few changes. Firstly the move to Wordpress which I'm slightly nervous about as it means getting to grips with a new platform. I'm sure it will all be fine, if not I have Fiona of WishesHopesDreams on hand to guide me.

February will also see the first of my featured guest posts. Not gonna lie. I am SO excited and indeed honoured that my favourite blogger has written the first to kickstart the series. Any guesses who? You'll have to wait and see to find out if you're right!

It's payday on Friday and seeing as I've been told I need to start looking after myself more so that I don't burn out, I've decided I'm going to treat myself to something. It can't be expensive being on a tight budget and all but maybe I'll book into a salon for a manicure or massage or something. Any ideas I'm all ears!

I'd also like to see if I can hop on a train and make a journey on my own. I'm not putting too much pressure on myself about this yet but 2017 is the year I want to visit new places and other bloggers so I really need to get over this anxiety.

And that's about it really. No doubt I have a million other things I want to share with you all but my mind has gone blank. Hope you've all had a fantastic month. Let me know if you've smashed any of your own goals or stuck to your resolutions. Always love hearing from you lovelies.

Until next time...

  1. Love this post hun - you have definitely done so well recently hitting your Twitter goal, and doing so well with blogging regularly and putting out amazing content. I'm proud of you! I have an idea who your fave blogger guest posting for you is (no, I don't think it's me! Haha) Excited to see that one - and would love to know how you've grown Twitter. Need all the help I can get there! xx
