Dating In Manchester This December*

*This is a collaborative post*

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and I'm loving it. We've got our Christmas tree up, I've wrapped practically all my gifts and I'm now officially counting down.
One of my favourite places to visit at this time of year is Manchester. Unfortunately because of the current situation many of the usual annual events aren't running such as the Christmas markets, but that doesn't mean you can't still have some festive fun. In today's post I'm sharing some excellent dating ideas for any of you Manchester singles

Treasure Hunt Manchester

If you're looking for an unusal outdoor date idea where you can still socially distance then look no further. Treasure Hunt Manchester is a private self guided treasure hunt around the Manchester area. Using just your phone you'll be given clues via Captain Bess and you'll then need to hunt around the city to find the answers. You'll also learn interesting facts about things you see along the way. Wrap up warm, enjoy the sites and grab yourself a bite to eat afterwards.

Indoor SkyDiving Experience

iFLY Manchester is an indoor skydiving facility enabling you to experience an exhilarating skydiving experience without the fear of having to jump out of a plane. With a state of the art vertical wind tunnel you'll have an instructor on hand the whole time to help you. My brother in law and nephew have tried this and absolutely loved it so I definitely recommend it. The facility is covid safe, testing temperatures of customers on arrival and they also sanitise all the apparatus/equipment.

A Spot Of Christmas Shopping

Even if you've done your Christmas shopping or don't want to spend any money, I still think browsing the shops at Christmas is magical. With the Christmas music playing in the background, decorations and twinkly lights up everywhere, the smell of delicious foods tempting your taste buds and so many pretty gift ideas to look at, what's not to love? One of the great things about Manchester is the choice of shops! Whether you opt for The Trafford Centre, The Manchester Arndale or the high street (or maybe all three,) I think wandering around the shops at Christmas time can be a really romantic experience. One to bear in mind if you're Manchester dating. If you do head to Manchester this December then check out Selfridges for some Christmas musical entertainment in the form of live solo singers.

The Parking Lot Social

Book tickets for The Parking Lot Social Winter Festival this December for a fun filled entertaining evening. A mixture of movies, live music, games, quizzes and comedy, everyone is required to stay put in their car to be Covid safe but are still encouraged to participate. With a 60ft Christmas tree and festive movies such as Home Alone and Love Actually, it's a fantastic idea for a Christmas date whilst being able to socially distance. There's even a Cinderella Panto showing and food trucks if you're feeling peckish.

Back To The North Pole - A Drive-Thru Christmas

For the kid in all of us, this drive-thru experience is one for all the family or another festive date idea. Safe and warm from the comfort of your car, you can enjoy the drive through a magical winter wonderland. Look out for the real reindeers in pretty snowy surroundings. The date night costs £45 per car and includes meeting Santa, goody bag, and 'avoid the naughty elves with foam guns!'

All I Want For Christmas - A Virtual Event

If you're looking for a virtual date idea then check out 'All I Want For Christmas' via the Royal Exchange Theatre which is on every day up until Christmas Day. A celebration of Christmas and described as a 'digital advent journey' by The Royal Exchange, there are twenty five performances to enjoy. From a fantastic team of writers, directors and perfomers you'll enjoy stories of hope and joy.

Winter Picnic And Hot Chocolate

For this date idea you'll definitely need to wrap up warm now that the cold weather has set in. Pack yourself a picnic, a blanket, a flask of hot chocolate and enjoy a romantic picnic for two. There are several parks to choose from in Manchester including Alexandra Park which has a lake and Heaton Park which features an animal centre.

No matter what you decide to do this December remember to keep safe and above all else enjoy yourselves. Do let me know if you try any of my date ideas via Twitter

Merry Christmas!
