Announcing a blog break...

Hello all! You may have noticed I haven't posted for a couple of weeks. To be honest I didn't feel that I was giving enough 'quality' time to my blog. Sure I've still been uploading an Instagram Favourites and a Blog Love post most weeks, but the things I really wanted to blog about when I started this have gone out the window somewhat.
To put another way, GirlGoneDreamer has gone off tangent. When I created GGD I had all sorts of exciting ideas and a vision of how it would be. I must admit, blogging is a lot tougher than I expected. And a whole lot more time consuming too. I guess a lot of it is trial and error, we bloggers learn as we go and find our niche. Well I haven't got anywhere near finding mine. I think this is because I've literally spent so much time just keeping up with the two regular posts on top of my other commitments. Why do them if they're so time consuming you might ask? Well the thing is, I've always been a people pleaser. I can't help it. I want you all to like the content. And judging on all the positive feedback I've had so far, I'd say you all seem to love the two regular features. This was/is great. I'm really glad you like them. And I'm grateful for all your love and support. But here's the thing... What I hadn't accounted for was that I'd actually end up resenting GGD. Because in putting what I thought you all wanted to read first, I've ended up shoving my own passions and interests to one side. And I think it shows. For starters I have no-where near the same amount of enthusiasm. Blogging has become - dare I say it - a chore! That wasn't how this blog journey was meant to be. But seeing as it is a journey this is by no means the end of the road. On the contrary I'm simply having a blog break, re-evaluating things if you like. And come new year I'll have a (hopefully) glossier, shinier, classier looking blog filled purely with my own passions and interests. Because let's face it, this is supposed to be my little corner of the world right? Therefore it needs to reflect that in every aspect. I have learned that I am way too busy to produce more than one good quality post each week. The pressure is just too much. So come January I'll be sticking to uploading probably every Friday night. I haven't actually settled on a day yet. You'll notice a difference. Or rather I hope you'll notice a difference. It'll be all me. Original content, original photos. Maybe some author interviews along the way. I do enjoy those. And as much as this is scary having no-one and nothing to hide behind, it's also rather liberating. No more pressure. No more trying to people please. I'm simply going to write about what I want and hope you guys stick with me. Because for the first time in several weeks, I'm actually excited about blogging again. Sorry if I've rambled on a bit. Just wanted to let you all know what was going on. The lovely Jemma from Dorkface is working on artwork for my new blog header. And Kotryna from Kotryna Bass Designs is working on the actual blog design. I'm super excited to see the results. That's me all talked out.
Take care this week folks! The weather has been wild. Lots of love Justine xxx

    1. Thanks Lexie. I'm feeling very enthusiastic about it all again. As for my blog design, I saw it for the first time the other day and I felt sick with excitement ha ha! Hope you enjoy what's to come on GGD xxx
