How To Become A Healthier, Happier You*

*This is a collaborative post*

It goes without saying that when you're fit and healthy, you also automatically feel happier and more energetic too. I definitely notice a difference when I attempt to drink more water each day. My headaches are less frequent and my skin starts to clear up. Cutting down on alcohol also makes me feel more alert the morning after. There are plenty of minor adjustments you can make to your lifestyle so that you can feel healthier and happier in yourself. Here are a few suggestions:

Hydrate

Aim to drink a good two litres of water a day. I usually add some sugar free cordial to water to help me reach this goal as I'm not the best at drinking water just on it's own.
Not only will drinking more water help to quench your thirst, but you'll soon start to see a visible difference in your complexion. Hydration is vital as our bodies need it in order to function properly. Dehydration can cause headaches, dry mouth and fatigue.

Sleep

Getting enough sleep is something many people overlook, but in actual fact it plays an important part in a healthy lifestyle. As you sleep, your body literally recuperates from the days events. Damaged cells are healed and your system recharges. Too little sleep and you might notice a dip in your mood. You're more likely to feel grumpy and could even struggle to focus at work. Of course, this could also be due to another reason so, if you suspect something isn't quite right with your body, it might be worth talking to a doctor or other medical professional to see if there is anything that can be done. For example, if it transpires that you have low testosterone, you could potentially find treatment at somewhere like this clinic offering TRT Northeast Frisco that can help improve your energy and concentration, amongst other things.
I've also recently read that poor sleep can lead to weight gain and can increase your chances of getting heart disease.
An average adult should aim for seven to nine hours of kip a night. Don't forget to ban phone use a good hour before bed. The blue light emitted from mobile phones can mess with your sleeping pattern.

Exercise

I know it's hard to motivate yourself after a long, hard day at work, but getting enough exercise is really important for our physical health and reduces the risk of many diseases. It can also boost your mood!
If - like me - you're sat in front of a computer at work all day every day, then you're getting very little exercise indeed. So even if you start off just by going for short walks in the balmy Summer evenings, this is better than doing no exercise at all.
Exercise also aids in weight loss and can really help reduce your stress levels.

Quit Bad Habits

Smoking... We all know it isn't healthy right? It leads to an increased risk of heart and lung disease not to mention it's damn right expensive. I have been around smokers most of my life and I've witnessed first hand how hard it is to give up. But there are other options available. Vaping is a much healthier alternative than smoking cigarettes. Redvape.com is home to the UK's finest premium Gourmet E-Liquid brand. Using only the finest natural ingredients in order to create a premium Gourmet E-Liquid range, you will never find any artificial ingredients, flavourings or colourings in any Red Vape products.
Studies have shown that switching to vaping can actually greatly improve your cardiovascular health. There's also the added bonus that by making the switch, you'll be saving money as you'll be spending a fraction of the cost.

Eat Healthy

It's important that as well as eating the right kinds of foods, you take the time to also eat properly. Eating on the go or if you're always in a rush does us no favours whatsoever. Take time to chew your food properly, not only will you enjoy it more but this will also aid the digestive process.
Try to cut down on your sugar intake as this can increase your risk of dental cavities and also obesity.
You'll find plenty of conflicting advice on the net but I personally think five portions of fruit and veg a day is plenty. It can be hard to factor this into your diet so try adding slices of banana or some strawberries to your cereal. Switch your crisps and dip to cucumber or carrot slices and dip them in houmous. Even adding salad to an otherwise ordinary sandwich is a good way of introducing more veg into your diet.
Oily fish is another food to bear in mind. Full of Omega-3 fatty acids, oily fish can reduce the risk of heart disease.
