If Joe Manganiello invited you to a beach party, how big are the chances you’d actually attend? Hey, be honest! We somehow think you’d turn him down flat just because you feel too self-conscious about your body. Hey, a year ago we’d be with you and say “we get it, we wouldn’t go either” but not today; today we’ll tell you it’s all about the way you manipulate your curves to your advantage and the image you build of yourself and reflect on others.
But what about my cellulite, you ask?  What about it? It’s there, it’s manageable.
And the stretch marks? Fixable.
My stomach is flabby? We’ll tell you how to cover it.
Ladies, read on to dig into the ways of becoming a VIP at any summer party!

Embrace your shape

The first step to success, i.e. looking good in a bathing suit, is embracing your shape and size, no matter what you look like. There’s nothing more beautiful than a woman owning who she is, and we have no doubt you are an amazing woman on a journey to finding a fantastic bathing suit.
Depending on your shape, different cuts will agree with your curves differently. For a traditional fix, embrace the following advice:
  • Pear – What is lacking in the top part of a pear-shaped body is compensated in the lower part. Your thicker bottom is actually very sexy and you should use that to your advantage. Avoid wearing shorts and ‘60s inspired pin-up bottoms you’d normally wear to “cover up”. All the extra fabric will visually enlarge the part you are trying to hide. Instead, wear a bikini or regular bottoms. To make your breasts appear larger, wear a puffed up top with fringe or other ornaments that would add to the volume of your top.
  • Apple – Your midsection is the focus of your figure but otherwise you’ve got a great figure, right? Easy to solve! Wear an A-line – a one-piece silhouette to conceal your tummy in all the right ways. Add a chic belt or wear a wrap-dress-inspired swimsuit to visually create a waist.
  • Hourglass – A big booty and breasts? Beautiful! Own it! Any clean cut with no added embellishment works. We’d recommend avoiding prints and patterns.
  • Banana – This shape works with pretty much anything.

Feel better instantly

The best way to prepare your skin and body for the summer season falls down to just a few amazing tricks:
  • Drink a lot of water (up to 4l a day)
  • Avoid salty foods and you’ll feel skinnier instantly (salty foods make your cellulite go all jiggly!)
  • Prepare your skin the Japanese way (when have you seen a Japanese with a single pimple, really!). The Japanese are known to have always been the top nation in cosmetic and beauty procedures, with their acupuncture leading the way. We are not at all surprised that they’ve come up with ways to modernize acupuncture and turn it into a trend.  At this point, skin needling in Sydney and other beauty capitals around the world is becoming the number one procedure celebrities (and everyone else) are turning to in order to clear their skin of spots, lines and blemishes, and make it ultra-healthy.
  • Remove any extra hairs and do a body scrub
  • Get a nice hairdo

Work on your confidence

With so many gorgeous women out there whose abs and a perfect shape you can spot from a mile away, how can a regular girl feel confident? Well, easy!  Although working on yourself is a process that never stops, there are a few things you can do to feel better immediately:
  • Focus on what’s beautiful on your body and hype it
  • Eliminate negative thoughts about the way you look
  • Accept that the size doesn’t matter
  • Surround yourself with supportive people
  • Practice confidence and body positivity (in your mind)
  • Refocus your thoughts from “this looks horrible” to “this looks so sexy”
  • Understand that YOU are your worst judge
Was this helpful? We hope it was! Remember: you are already beautiful… you just need to start feeling like it!
